Scaynes Hill Cricket Club is committed to providing young children with a safe environment to have fun while playing cricket.

We have four UKCC accredited coaches at the Club, so not only do they know about cricket but they have been trained in first aid, child protection and have been CRB checked. All helpers having direct access to the children are also be CRB checked. We operate within the "Safe Hands" policy which is cricket's policy for safeguarding children's coaching issued by the ECB.

The Junior Team Managers are supported by the Junior Committee that reports to the Club's Management Committee to ensure that the whole Club is moving in the same direction.

The Junior committee is committed to:
  • Provide a friendly environment in which local junior cricketers enjoy a high quality coaching and playing environment
  • Provide access to Sussex representative cricket for the most gifted junior players through well developed links to the County representative teams
  • Provide 1st, 2nd and 3rd team cricketers who have the potential to become senior members of SHCC
We play league cricket in the North and Mid Sussex Junior Cricket League
against juniors from other local clubs.

We encourage parents to stay and watch the training and if they are interested, to get involved.

Head of Junior Cricket is Simon Berrill (UKCC2 level coach). Other coaches are Nick Wright and Mike Corless. If you are interested in joining our junior section or would like more information please contact Simon Berrill on 01293 562703 or by Mail to Simon Berrill

Our young cricketers, from 7 to 11 years old, train on Saturday morning between 10.30 and 12.00.

The over 11s train on Monday evenings between 18.30 and 20.00.
All training is weather permitting!
